Nad Miyan began his career in Canada, after completing his education in the UK and USA. He has successfully opened and operated clubs in Canada, UK, Lebanon, Egypt, Qatar, UAE, Jordan and Bahrain. In 1996 he was headhunted and offered a position as the GM of a world class facility to be built in Beirut, Lebanon. Nad created all specifications and SOP’s, controlled the build and fit out budget of $6m. The club successfully opened in November 1998, achieving target membership by Feb 1999. Lifestyles is still regarded as the benchmark of health, fitness and spa facilities across the region. With his commercial drive and business acumen, he has enhanced and further developed a number of health club chains moving on to run his own consultancy business across the Middle East and North Africa with clients that include: Lifestyles, Beirut, Lebanon; Gold’s Gym, Qatar and KSA; Intercontinental Hotels, MENA; Apple Fitness, KSA and Accor Hotels. In 2006, Nad was appointed Group Business Manager for Fitness First, Middle East & North Africa. During his tenure, he successfully launched and operated the brand in Lebanon (2 clubs), Jordan (2 clubs), Bahrain, and added a further 7 clubs to the chain in the UAE. Managing a 20 strong team of group, regional, area and club based professionals, with overall responsibility for 300+ employees and an annual operating budget in excess of US$15m. Overall, Nad maintained an EBITDA of 28%, retention of approximately 68% and consistently drove the region to achieve its’ budgets and targets. Most recently, Nad was head-hunted to create a unique new brand for Dubai Properties Group with regional aspirations.
